My husband and I met around 7 years ago. We were both working in the same company. We started out as friends and eventually became boyfriend and girlfriend. We love to watch movies together, bike around, jog, skateboarding, swim, go on road trips, have coffee, and of course eat. We both love munching on chips, potato fries, pizza, burgers, burritos, tacos, pasta, fast foods, shrimp, steak, grilled chicken and the list goes on. Eventually we had to stop as our bodies drastically changed. We were literally thin when we first met and now we grew big. Aside from being not that physically active anymore, metabolism is also one thing we blame.
I am now in my late 20’s and my husband is in his early 30’s which means that our metabolism is beginning to slow down. According to Shape:
The human body is mostly a remarkable thing, but as far as design flaws go, this is a big one. In your 30s you start to experience gradual bone and muscle loss. This can slow your metabolism and lead to weight gain, especially if you don’t increase exercise or make dietary changes.
There was a point in our lives that instead of having a date night or any outdoor date we tend to refuse and instead just be couch potatoes and drowned ourselves watching Netflix nonstop. We always opted to stay indoors, cuddle, eat and sleep. Then of course have come to a point wherein we wanted to do better than this. Stop the blame game and get our selves disciplined. We wanted to have a healthier lifestyle. Exercise more and have a good diet plan so we can live happier and healthier.
Little by little we started to exercise, be more physically active as we remained stagnant after some time. And next on our list is Ketogenic Diet.
Ketogenic Diet Explained

On a ketogenic diet, people eat a very small amount of carbohydrates, a moderate amount of protein and a large proportion of fat per day. This means that the body uses fat as its main source of fuel and breaks it down into ‘ketone bodies’ (or ‘ketones’) in a process called ketosis.
From here on we would like to continue our journey to a more healthier approach when it comes to food. At first, we only had limited meal plans and eventually kept eating the same set of meals. Luckily we found my favourite keto cookbooks which had a lot of meal plans to choose from which makes it more exciting and fun to achieve ketosis.
